DC Fast Charging Connectors & Inlets

DC EV (electric vehicle) fast charging refers to a method of recharging electric vehicles using direct current (DC) instead of the alternating current (AC) that is typically used in homes and businesses. This allows for much faster charging times compared to using AC charging.

Combined Charging System (CCS)

A standard for charging electric vehicles, which uses Combo 1 and Combo 2 AC/DC inlets which can be used with both AC and DC connectors to provide power at up to 400kW.  CCS connectors are an extension of the SAE J1772 (Type 1) and IEC 62196 (Type 2) connectors. CCS connectors & inlets have two additional direct current (DC) contacts to support high-power DC fast charging. CCS connectors support DC charging only.

NACS (North American Charging Standard)

KST’s NACS DC EV charging connectors are designed to be compatible with the North American Charging Standard, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of electric vehicles.
